A NEW PARADIGM FOR A SOCIETY OF GLOBAL AGE: BENEDICT XVI’S SUBSIDIARY PERSPECTIVE.

An important philosophical and political contribution to the understanding of the globalization is the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI, who determined the ‘special’ role of values and principles for society, for public relations, for relations between the state and a citizen, as well as for relations between peoples and states in his encyclicals «Deus caritas est» and «Caritas in Veritate», and other reports and messages. Furthermore, Benedict XVI in the encyclical «Caritas in Veritate» affirmed that modern international relations should be based on the principle of subsidiarity and solidarity.

The teachings of Pope Benedict XVI and his views on the society in 21st century (the role of a person, society, state and the international community in the epoch of globalization) are investigated in the article. The principles proposed by Benedict XVI for the international relations, relations between state and society, and for relations in the society on the 21st century are considered. An attempt was made to outline the paradigm of Benedict XVI for public relations and international cooperation during the age of globalization.

The subsidiary perspective of Benedict XVI for interpersonal, public and international relations are considered. It is revealed, that the increase of the individual participation in a public life is the basis for the development of a prosperous society, because, in the opinion of Benedict XVI, the social activity of a person will change their social status and will benefit society. The social activities of citizens will create a challenge for the authorities, namely, to delegate their powers to lower levels, even to ordinary citizens. According to Benedict XVI, the success of states depends on the ability to delegate authority in a globalized society.

The issues of the international relations and cooperation are revealed. Benedict XVI calls for the management of the globalization and speaks about need of new world authority. Such authority, in his opinion, should be governed by the principle of the subsidiary.

The article outlines the vision of a global power and the role of citizen and state in the period of globalization.
