THE ORIGINS OF FRENCH-CANADIAN NATIONALISM (XVIII – FIRST THIRD XX CENTURIES)

The article are investigated the question of the origins of French-Canadian nationalism in XVIII – the first third of the XX century. The influence of Great Britain assimilation policy in genesis of French-Canadian problem, including analysis of British colonial acts about Canada governance are determined. The evolution of French-Canadian nationalism, especially the transformation from peaceful ways defending rights to armed rebellion 1837 – 1838 years and unrest during the First World War are discovered. The differences between two trends of French-Canadian nationalism: conservative and nationalistic (radical) are represented.
