THE MONROE DOCTRINE: THE EVOLUTION OF INTERPRETATION AND IMPLEMENTATION EFFORTS

Abstract. In the article the role of the Monroe doctrine in the system of international relations in the 19-th century has been considered. The attempts of its practical application, as well as the evolution of its interpretation have been analyzed. The attitude of great powers to the Monroe doctrine has been highlighted.
